Photo London 2016 - save the dates

With Paris Photo in full swing as I write, and me here in Auckland for the first time ever, it was a pleasure to receive mail from Photo London advising their dates for next year.

The second edition of Photo London will take place in London’s iconic Somerset House from 19–22 May 2016, with a VIP preview day on Wednesday 18 May. The expanded fair will include over 80 of the world’s leading international photography galleries and will again feature Discovery; a platform for emerging galleries to showcase new talent. Photo London is distinguished by the quality and diversity of its public programme supported by the LUMA Foundation.

The 2016 programme will include specially commissioned exhibitions including a presentation of work by British photojournalist Don McCullin. At a special ceremony on 19 May, McCullin will receive the 2016 Photo London Master of Photography Award.

Rankin Live will give members of the public the exclusive opportunity to feature in front of the photographer’s lens and Photo London’s subterranean Deadhouse Sessions will celebrate the relationship between music and photography.

A special talks series, curated by writer and curator, William A. Ewing will include: Don McCullin, Hans-Ulrich Obrist, David Campany, Mary McCartney, Graham Nash, Nick Knight, Richard Misrach, Francis Hodgson, Edward Burtynsky, Katy Grannan and Martin Parr.
